It’s worth something to the right buyer, I’d look for a prepper

Mount it to a trailer and sell it to a piplining or boilermaking outfit. They will pay you handsomely for a functional 3 phase generator to power their welders.

I’m sure it does, those things are designed to last forever. Do some basic stuff (oil change, fresh fuel, new batteries) and it should crank right up.

How many hours does it have?

Don’t know. We have some time. I’ll be looking it over at lunch tomorrow to get more photos. I may bring in a battery to see if it cranks.

Other thing is I’m not sure if it’s all disconnected from actual building supplies either. I can’t fire it up and recharge lines that have been cut.

Speaking of the Metro. The tow bar is installed and the first event is April 22nd.

Don’t try to fire it or turn it over on the battery, just bring a big honkin wrench to put on it to make sure it isn’t seized. If it’s not seized, then 90% of the time you can bring it back to life. I’m not sure what happened to Katolight (maybe MTU bought them), but the D4800TA is an old Hercules engine so there is a support structure out there if you need parts.

Ok. We were planning on trying it out. After hours incase anything was actually connected.

Boss don’t care and from what I was told said scrap it. So we’ll see about selling it prior to that.

Katolight website goes directly to MTU. And MTU has same city, state company info.
